Despite the current COVID restrictions, Kitty is managing to stay active

(just try stopping her!).
Working with storyteller Mily Jackdaw (www.millyjackdaw.com/), and performance artist Donna Males (www.facebook.com/donna.males ), with costumes by Carys Hedd of Wenchwear, and cart/props by Popol Fazakerley, Kitty would like to present:
The Brilliant, Resilient, Safely Distanced Damsels
/Yr Herlodesi Gwydn a Gwych
youtu.be/qd6-aaNfe54
This is a walkabout piece - visual, musical entertainment to lighten the spirits in these unusual times, "bringing joy to the streets" (Cambrian News, 15/10/20). It is fully compliant with whatever COVID regulations are currently in place, being adaptable from walkabout, to set pieces, to performances through windows (e.g. to sheltered accomodations or along streets on lockdown).

The Damsels are on the hunt for the missing half of a magic pendant, one that could help to heal the world! They travel with their special 'pop out' cart, which is fuelled by kindness - the Damsels collect the kindness of strangers, who are rewarded with odd presents brought forth from the cart's depths. On their way, they perform songs and stories, in Welsh and English.
As part of their quest in Aberystwyth, the Damsels recorded with Blue Hare podcasts - anchor.fm/haloquin/episodes/The-Blue-Hare-introduces-the-Brilliant-Resilient-Safely-Distanced-Damsels-eios81. (for the trailer).

AberGêm
is an innovative outdoor arts project that transforms the streets of Aberystwyth into a real- life reality game. Led by local artists and young adults, it tells the story of the community through placing live performances, music, visual spectacle and installation in unexpected places. Running until end 2022, it’s a joint initiative between Articulture, Aberystwyth Arts Centre and Boomtown in partnership with Ceredigion County Council and Mind Aberystwyth, and is supported by the Arts Council of Wales. From a three day LAB came marvellous collaborations between artists, and the springboard for our first interaction, at Aberystwyth Fair in November 2021. Kitty just loved playing a (rather depressed - but who wouldn't be, with that ridiculous pinny and the stuffing all coming out round her ears) Bear.... A glimpse of the Fair interaction can be found here www.youtube.com/watch?v=gts2-GQAOG8 Ymunwch gyda ni / Conspire with us! here www.facebook.com/ |
Music and Performance Poetry
Kitty is also continuing to play music with the redoutable Uncle Tone D'Lowerer and Felitia B Crusher, from Quercus Burlesque, composing a fireside set, which is more condusive to small COVID- permissable gatherings. All the band are of course gutted that our festival (and other) gigs were all cancelled or postponed this Summer. But that's no reason not to sit round a fire and play some music under some young oaks in wildest midwest Wales... It's a tough job, eh, but someone's gotta do it!
'Unravelling' - a new song written as part of the 'Human Threads' installation, for Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum - recently recorded live under a huge Tulip Tree by a small river and in the process of being editied....
Kitty also continues to write poetry and will perform whenever COVID conditions allow, also occasionally online e.g. at 2020 White Ribbon Day event with National Street Choirs - youtu.be/NCV9RcvSCxQ
